Blur faces in a photo, in your browser
Drop a photo, and every face gets a cover. Tap a face to keep it visible, pick pixelation, blur or an emoji, move or add covers by hand, and download the result at the original size. The photo stays in your browser: nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored.
or drop one here. JPEG, PNG or WebP; HEIC in Safari.

Keyboard: Tab to a cover, Space to toggle it, arrow keys to move it, Shift and arrows to resize, Delete to remove it.

Emoji
For video, Anonimo does the same on your iPhone: it finds every face, groups them by person, and hides everyone except the people you tap, in every frame.
What this tool does
It finds faces in a photo with a small detector that runs inside your browser, draws a cover over each one, and lets you decide who stays visible. The cover is pixelation, a soft blur or an emoji, sized to the face with a generous margin so hair and ears are covered too.
The detector is set to err on the side of too many covers. A face it still misses can be covered by hand: tap Add a cover, place it, resize it. A cover you do not want can be deleted or tapped to reveal the face.
The result is drawn on a canvas the size of your original photo and downloaded as a new file. Nothing is written to the photo in your library, and the download carries no EXIF data: no GPS position, no camera model, no date.
Nothing is uploaded
The page downloads the detector model and the script once from this website, then everything happens on your device. The page is served with a Content Security Policy that only allows connections to this site, so the tool cannot send your photo anywhere even by mistake.
No analytics, no cookies, no storage. Reload the page and the photo is gone.
Formats
JPEG, PNG and WebP open in every modern browser. HEIC photos from an iPhone open in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac; other browsers cannot decode HEIC, and the tool says so.
The download is a JPEG for photos that came in as JPEG or HEIC, and a PNG for PNG and WebP, so transparency survives.
The three covers
Pixelation turns the face into a mosaic. The block size scales with the face, so a large face does not become four giant squares and a small face does not stay recognisable.
Blur applies a Gaussian blur whose radius scales with the face, then feathers the edge so the cover does not look like a stamp.
Emoji puts a flat emoji over the face. The face underneath is pixelated too, so nothing shows at the corners of a round emoji.
The difference from the app
This tool is for photos. The Anonimo app for iPhone does video: it finds every face in every frame, groups them by person, and follows each face as it moves, so you tap a person once and they stay visible for the whole clip.
The app also opens HEIC and exports at full resolution, and it works with Photos directly. Free for videos up to 30 seconds; Pro removes the limits.
Questions people ask
Is the photo uploaded to a server?
No. Detection and blurring run in your browser, on your device. The page's security policy blocks any connection except to this website, and the only requests are for the page, the script and the model files.
Can I blur everyone except myself?
Yes. Every face starts covered; tap your own face to keep it visible. Tap it again to cover it.
A face was missed. What do I do?
Tap Add a cover, then tap where the face is and drag the corner to size it. Small faces at the back and faces turned away are where any detector misses, so always look before you download.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in Safari on iPhone and in Chrome on Android. Large photos take a few seconds. For video, use the Anonimo app on iPhone.
Is the blur reversible?
The blurred photo is a new file; the pixels under the cover are replaced, not hidden under a layer. We do not claim it is forensic-proof: a very light blur over a well-known face can still be guessed, so use pixelation or an emoji where it matters, and keep the original private.
